Patient History
Patient History
A healthy young female has lost her upper right first molar several years ago due to a failed root canal treatment. The tooth was removed over 4 years ago and since then her sinus had enlarged. With the associated bone loss, there was an insufficient bone volume for implant placement. Surrounding dentition was healthy.
Treatment Options
Due to the surrounding dentition being sound and unrestored the option of an implant was taken by the patient. Prior to implant placement, a lateral window sinus graft was performed to help rebuild the missing bone and provide sufficient volume for successful implant placement.
Treatment Carried Out
A lateral sinus lift was carefully carried out on the right maxillary sinus. The deficient area was grafted and allowed to heal for 8 months prior to implant placement.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner
